Starting a cabinetry or millwork project doesn’t have to be overwhelming. We can provide you with the level of assistance appropriate for wherever you are in the process. Already have a designer or architect? We can build the cabinetry you have chosen. Working with a contractor but don’t have a clear layout for your cabinetry? An EcoCraft designer can help you make decisions about a layout, style, and wood that will best suit your needs. And if you’re just beginning to explore the idea of new cabinetry or millwork, we can guide you through the entire job, from design to installation.
Working with a Designer
When it comes to cabinetry, an incorrect measurement as small as 1/4" can cause a problem—and a visible gap. A designer is not only trained to professionally execute the technical aspects, but has practical experience and knowledge that may be invaluable to you —for instance recommending an innovative solution for a challenging problem or a quirky space. Consider your designer a partner who can anticipate (and prepare for) possibilities that might not occur to you and who can manage the technical details. You’ll be free to dream, while the designer thinks through all the measurements, material coordination, and construction logistics.
EcoCraft can provide you with a designer or you can choose your own. A designer will typically:
- Visit your site to take measurements.
- Help you plan your project according to possible budget constraints.
- Create a design and draft perspectives, elevations, and/or a floor plan.
- Help you choose features and accessories such as pullout shelves or specialized storage.
A designer can also:
- Offer ideas for additional aspects of a remodel such as countertop, flooring or furniture for a cohesive look.
- Coordinate work with construction, painting, and other contractors.

How the EcoCraft Design Process Works
Step 1: Gather ideas that reflect what you want and what you like. A good source is designer magazines and websites.
Step 2: Contact EcoCraft and schedule a free in-home consultation. We can show you samples of woods and finishes and answer basic design questions. With a general plan of your project, we can give you a rough estimate for your EcoCraft cabinetry.
Step 3: Schedule an appointment with a designer to fully measure the space and determine all the particulars of the project needed for a detailed estimate, such as layout, wood, door style, finish, hardware and accessories.
Step 4: EcoCraft develops an estimate and a set of detailed drawings for your review that will show in 3D what your completed job will look like.
Step 5: Once the estimate has been approved and a contract signed, we’ll provide you with a projected date of completion and delivery. If desired, we can also arrange for installation.
Step 7: After installation, your EcoCraft designer or representative will check in with you to make sure that everything is to your satisfaction.
